Global trade body The Air Charter Association (The ACA), hosted its 2026 internship training week in August at London Biggin Hill Airport. The internship scheme, now in its third year, provides an outstanding opportunity for fifteen young people aged 18-25 to access dedicated aviation training and experience practical onsite visits at one of Europe’s busiest business airports.
The ACA is grateful to Bombardier, Castle Air, JETEX, London Biggin Hill Airport and Oriens Aviation for providing its interns access to tour their state-of-the-art facilities.
During the week, insight sessions were delivered by a range of guest speakers, featuring leading air charter professionals from across the industry: Andy Patsalides, Head of Special Projects, London Biggin Hill Airport; Ekaterina Andreeva, Head of Business Development – Cargo, Chapman Freeborn; Juan Capilla, Avionics & Project Manager, Bombardier; Lewis Holbrook, Head of Operations, Flightworx Aviation; Mike Rivett, Founder & MD, Churchill Aviation; Scott Butcher, Regional Vice President, Gulfstream Aerospace; Zoë Layden, Managing Director, Claveaux Consulting.
Following the successful completion of the training week, the interns will begin their work placements at ACA member companies, where they will have unparalleled access to experience working at some of the leading firms within the air charter industry.
Glenn Hogben, chief executive, The ACA, says: “The ACA Internship is now in its third year, and we are thrilled to have another cohort of incredibly bright and motivated young people, with a real passion for aviation. “Our members have been incredibly supportive in offering to host work placements and we have seen great success in the scheme as a whole, with five of last year’s cohort going on to work at leading member companies including Air Charter Service, Chapman Freeborn, CharterSync and FlyerTech.”

They gave me a greater understanding of the different roles within the industry and were very inspiring. The internship helped me discover a career path I am genuinely passionate about and motivated me to pursue it further.”
Harum Ahsan, intern, The ACA, says: “I loved meeting so many new people from different backgrounds and had so much fun. The training week gave me real insight into the wide variety of aviation career paths, which I was previously unaware of and opened so many new opportunities.”
