A specialist aviation consultancy, supporting owner operators and business aircraft with both aircraft acquisitions and aircraft management, have taken offices at Coventry Airport.

The Midlands is already at the centre of the UK aviation sector, with a long history of both manufacturing and development.

Coventry City of Culture 2021 will bring to the fore the importance of connectivity for both the city and the region, which makes Coventry Airport a natural choice for a start up business such as Sky Harbour UK Limited.

The existing aviation and aerospace development and research, including that by Coventry University, gives confidence to a post pandemic recovery that will reset the way we will travel in the future.

Recent developments within aviation and aerospace include the first certificated electric aircraft brought to market by Pipistrel, the Velis Electro.

In addition, electric and hydrogen propulsion solutions for aviation are in development by various consortiums, including Airbus and Boeing.

Steve Ford, Managing Director of Sky Harbour UK Limited said: “We welcome the recent announcement of the proposed Gigafactory as it shows clearly that the green solutions available through battery technologies, will allow not only the automotive but also the aviation and aerospace sectors to be a part of the solution as a joint venture. The technology transfers between the industries will continue to keep the West Midlands at the heart of employment opportunities, with Coventry Airport and its runway key to that success”.
