The paint project, completed by Duncan Aviation’s full-service facility in Provo, Utah, came to life through close collaboration between Duncan Aviation Designer Amie Jensen and the owner’s director of maintenance. Throughout the process, ideas were shared and refined until the right concept emerged. This approach allows owners to personalize their aircraft while maintaining a clean, balanced appearance.
From the beginning, the red, white, and blue color palette was essential, reflecting a family deeply rooted in American culture and identity.
While the final scheme was based on a concept provided during the design process, Jensen identified an opportunity to enhance the overall balance of the aircraft. The original design featured a solid blue belly extending through the tail, creating a visually heavy appearance. By reworking the striping and introducing a mirrored red accent toward the aft section, Jensen was able to unify the design and improve its flow.
“The scheme was already there,” says Jensen. “It just needed that shift in the tail to make everything connect.”
A custom logo positioned near the aircraft’s entry door adds a personal element, tying the design back to the family’s business and further reinforcing its identity.
The result is a clean, confident exterior that captures American heritage without excess—demonstrating how thoughtful refinement can elevate a concept into a distinctive and meaningful statement that enhances the aircraft’s identity and long-term value.
