London City Airport’s Private Jet Centre (PJC) has today become the first UK fixed-base operator (FBO) to deploy next generation security scanners for passengers, enabling travellers to pass through security without removing laptops and liquids from their hand luggage.

Passengers flying from London City Airport’s PJC can now take up to 2 litres bottles and are no longer restricted by 100ml liquid bottles, and can also leave large electronic items, like laptops, in their bag as they pass through security screening.

The PJC is also introducing a dedicated screening area for hold luggage, aimed at expediting the boarding process for its valued customers.

Chris Clayton, Commercial Manager at London City Airport’s Private Jet Centre, said:

“We are thrilled to unveil this new, cutting-edge technology, which will transform our customer experience by reducing the stress and hassle of 100ml liquids in clear plastic bags and having to unload your hand luggage.

“As we get ready to handle a surge in traffic during the upcoming Paris Olympics and European Football Championships in Germany, our new state-of-the-art security area will enable passengers to enjoy an even quicker and smoother experience.”

London City Airport’s Private Jet Centre is a leading provider of business aviation handling services and the closest in proximity to central London. Passengers can reach the financial district, Canary Wharf, within 10 minutes, St Paul’s within 30 minutes, and West London within 40 minutes.
