London – 29 October 2025: London Biggin Hill Airport has successfully delivered its eighth Futures Week, welcoming fifteen students to take part in the early careers initiative designed to inspire young people interested in aviation.

From engineering and aircraft maintenance to air traffic control, business operations and customer service, the experience gives students a first-hand look at the diverse range of roles available across the sector.

Since its launch in 2022, Futures Week has supported more than 115 students in exploring career opportunities, many of whom have gone on to train or work with organisations including Bombardier, British Airways, Castle Air Aviation Group and the Royal Navy.

Run bi-annually, the week-long programme offers a rare chance to go behind-the-scenes at London Biggin Hill Airport, one of the UK’s leading business aviation hubs. Participants take part in practical workshops, insightful tours and mentoring sessions with professionals from across the airport’s on-site business community, which is home to more than 70 resident aviation companies.

Hannah Gray, STEM Ambassador at London Biggin Hill Airport, says: “As a leading centre for aviation technology and innovation, we’re passionate about inspiring the next generation of aviation professionals, nurturing the skills and ambition that will support the industry for years to come.

“Futures Week is a vital part of that mission – it opens doors, builds confidence and connects young people with real career pathways. Seeing our alumni progress into apprenticeships, further education and full-time positions shows just how powerful these early experiences can be.”

Futures Week forms part of London Biggin Hill Airport’s wider Early Careers programme, which offers apprenticeships, work experience and STEM outreach across the local community. Together, these initiatives demonstrate the airport’s commitment to developing talent pipelines, supporting skills growth, and creating jobs and opportunities for local people.

The next Futures Week will take place in February 2026, with applications opening in late November.
