At the end of last year, Air Charter Service’s Time Critical division arranged for the transportation of more than three tons of Triceratops bones, for the opening of a new natural history museum in Abu Dhabi.
Robert Alleman, CEO of ACS’s Time Critical team, commented: “We received a call from a customer looking for an all-in-one solution to transport crates containing more than three tons of fossils from Denver in time for the opening of a brand-new natural history museum in Abu Dhabi.
“We quickly got to work to find the best NFO (Next Flight Out), utilising our connections to put together the best solution. Within an hour we had come up with the most suitable answer – two separate flights to Abu Dhabi, one via Chicago and the other via London’s Heathrow. Our trucking division arranged liftgate trucks with specialist handlers to collect the crates and drive them to the airport in Denver, ahead of their onward flights to Abu Dhabi.
“We monitored the shipments the entire way, and when they arrived, representatives from the Abu Dhabi Department of Culture and Tourism ensured they were delivered to the site in good time.”
Opening in late November, the Natural History Museum Abu Dhabi is the largest natural history institution in the Middle East and has several complete Triceratops skeletons on display.
