Primarily for all Isle of Man Aircraft Registry Flight Operations Representatives and holders of FCL validations.

We have noticed an increase in reported airspace infringements by aircraft registered in the Isle of Man.

Traditionally, the primary focus of airspace infringement safety material has been on pilots of VFR recreational flights. However, we feel that there is also a particular risk of infringement by aircraft conducting IFR private / corporate flights, including those that are:

– awaiting a clearance to enter controlled airspace; or

– enroute in Class G airspace without a robust air traffic service.

Consequently, a new edition of Safety Matters has been published to provide flight crew with guidance to assist in the prevention of airspace infringements and the steps to take in the event of making an infringement.

Safety Matters Issue No 02/24

All flight crew are encouraged to review the Safety Matters in the context of their routine aircraft operations.
