It’s summer – so a great time to get LOADS of great content for your social marketing. Whether you’re attending trade shows, have a busy flight training school or even flying a lot of charter, there are multiple opportunities to capture some great shots.

Before you do – here are three key questions to ask yourself.

  1. Who are your audience? Most of the people on my email list are senior leaders or founders, which is reflected in the kind of people who view GearUp TV’s video content. If we were a charter company, for example, I’d look to showcase customer service or what to expect from flying privately, depending on the intended audience – regulars or newbies
  2. What is the goal of this video? ie your business intention. Is this for brand awareness to increase the know, like and trust factor? is it to let people know about your services and how they can access them? Have you included a call to action? For the videos we are filming for BBGA, the request is for people to follow the channels they are seeing them on to raise awareness of the organisation.
  3. Lastly, how will you optimise reach of this video so that it gets in front of your target audience (paid social is great – if you’re not using ads, what are your customers looking for and where are they looking for it?) Top tip – the opening few seconds is THE best optimisation you can get.

So where’s the sustainability piece here?

  • I get it, I’m talking about video – however, without visibility, any of your business goals could be dead in the water.
  • Next week we’re heading to Farnborough and I’m really excited to tell you I’m filming with Harvey Matthewson of Aerobility and Jean Botti of VoltAero – we’re covering a great story that converges sustainability of thought and of decarbonisation.

As a reminder, here is part of the original video we shot of Aerobility’s Mike Miller-Smith and Jean Botti where they discussed how to make Jean’s new hybrid electric aircraft accessible to people with reduced mobility. What they’ve achieved since then is game changing.
