IOMAR has just published a brand new guidance document for industry – Guide to Registration and Operation of Transitional Aircraft.
IOMAR has extensive experience of registering and providing specialist, efficient safety regulatory services to transitional aircraft, whilst ensuring high regulatory standards in accordance with the requirements of the Chicago Convention.
A ‘transitional aircraft’ is defined by IOMAR as an aircraft awaiting commercial lease or sale. Transitional aircraft routinely registered in the Isle of Man are narrow body and wide body airliners with a normal passenger-seating layout required by an airline operating scheduled air services. However, we also recognise that there could be situations where a business jet or helicopter that was “awaiting sale” could also be considered to be a transitional aircraft; for such aircraft, contact should be made with the IOMAR to discuss the specific project.
Please contact the Registry as early as possible if you are considering registering an aircraft. This will enable our highly experienced team to guide you through the process and make the registration and initial operation of the aircraft as efficient as possible.
