Manager Regulatory Affairs – Europe

David is a former Naval helicopter and fixed wing instructor/examiner and Swordfish display pilot; he commanded the Royal Navy’s Commando Helicopter Force and was the Senior Naval Officer during the formation of the Joint Helicopter Command.  After a 25-year career in the Fleet Air Arm he joined British Midland Airways and later BMI Baby flying B737s. In 2003 he joined WHL’s Aviation Training International Limited as Chief Aircrew Instructor on the British Army Apache attack helicopter program.  He joined FlightSafety in 2007 as a Training Director at Farnborough and was subsequently appointed Regional Head of Training, Senior Tutor and principal CRMI.  David is a founder member of the EASA Aircrew Training Policy Group, a member of EASA’s FS.TEC advisory body and Rule Making Tasks RMT.0194 (Part-FCL instructor requirements) and 0599 (EBT). He is an SME contributor to GAMA’s European Leaders Steering Committee and the UK CAA’s eVTOL/AAM Pilot Training Working Group.
