These are goldmines for building connections, but most people miss a huge opportunity—being visible on LinkedIn while they’re here. And wearing something that stands out is a great ploy. I have my red dress, Kyle James of the Bermuda Aircraft Registry has his Bermuda shots and check out Ollie Hymers at Corporate Jet Investor in his deerstalker, which he’s pledged to wear for the whole of the conference.
- If you don’t have a red dress, great legs or a distinguished hat, posting about the event helps you stand out, not just to those in the room, but to your entire network.
- Critical – engaging with others’ posts makes you memorable long after the conference ends.
- A simple video or photo update can position you as an industry leader and start real conversations.
I ran a session yesterday for the women here, which we’ll be putting out on LinkedIn on Thursday to help you people show up confidently on video and make LinkedIn work for you during and after the event.
If you’d like a quick tip or even a filmed clip while you’re here, let’s connect!
LinkedIn now boasts more than 1bn active users with only 1% regularly posting and even fewer adding videos. You don’t have to go viral to get the attention of your ideal prospects.
And if you’re at CJI today look out for my team and I – I’m in the red dress – do stop and ask us if you’d like some help with your videos.
For anyone who can’t make it check out my PS for other ways I can help you.
PS:
LinkedIn has been the go to platform. Trust me, this year it will be THE place to be and organic content will really fly- so ensure you’re visible there. Think Facebook 5 years ago.
I’ll be live on there at 1pm every Tuesday Join me HERE
