Dear Member,

Thanks to your inputs this week we have been able develop a submission to DfT to highlight the current industry capability to support movement of key passengers and goods in support of the crisis. In addition we have also been able to demonstrate the impact that the lockdown has had on our community, which as you know is profound.  There were several points highlighted that we have asked DfT to champion on our behalf that would at least alleviate the current operational and financial pressures.

We had a simple example of this today where there was a question mark about the recurrent training of Furloughed pilots. We cleared this up with DfT and training can take place to maintain recency without compromising the furlough process. We have the reference if you require this.

In addition EBAA have been undertaking a survey to understand the industry impact across all EU operator members.  A full analysis is being undertaken, however, an interim submission will be made to the Commission and EASA as an impact assessment to help focus their minds when we start to emerge out of the current pandemic.  This document will be in the public domain later this week and I will ensure that DfT are made aware the content to be considered once we are in a more stable environment.

Best Regards,
