We have been in touch with the DfT regularly to ensure our sector is considered by government when assessing financial support during these unprecedented times.  Please see below the latest advice.  We welcome members feedback as to how current support is helping your businesses and if there are any any glaring holes in the process so we can report back to the DfT.   We also ask for positive aspects as well please, since there is a massive effort taking place by government to help.

There is no bespoke DfT support for aviation for the time being – all support is being offered through HM Treasury and HMRC, and is the same as being offered to all industry in the UK.

COVID-19: support for businesses

Covid Corporate Financing Facility (CCFF): information for those seeking to participate in the scheme

The first link is updated each time HMT announce new measures. Most business aviation companies should be able to access considerable support through these schemes. In addition, the Covid-19 Corporate Financing Facility may be more suitable for larger operators and companies. Operators should explore all of these options where possible. The DfT recognise that there will still be some gaps in the support offered by HMT, and that will be the same for all industries in the UK. They are trying to ensure that they are sighted on industry issues, and as you can appreciate, these are often very broad. We encourage members to report examples and data of how industry is affected to BBGA for feedback to DfT.
